About SYMBOIOSIS SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY:

As a "home away from home" for international students attending school in Pune, Dr. Shantaram Balwant Mujumdar founded Symbiosis in 1971. His Excellency the President of India presented him with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards. Since its beginnings, Symbiosis has expanded into a sizable educational organisation with 20 sites housing schools and universities. Numerous on-campus programmes at Symbiosis are being attended by thousands of students from 80 countries and all around India.

The Symbiosis Open Education Society (SOES) was founded to advance open and remote learning, skill-based education, and vocational training. Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL), Symbiosis Vocational Junior College, Symbiosis Community College, and Symbiosis Institute of Skill Development are the four constituent institutions that make up SOES. In 1994, SCDL was founded with the goal of "Reaching the Unreached."
They want to create people who are "industry ready" for the future and for growth. The institution has been providing degree-level courses, certificates, and diplomas in a number of disciplines, including automotive, construction, architecture, retail, mechatronics, ports, and terminal management. Rabindranath Tagore's Viswa Bharati University and Pujya Sane Guruji's Antar  Bharati movement served as inspiration for its ethos, which was based on the high, universal values of fusion and understanding. It has grown around its slogan Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which translates to "the world is one family." It has also focused on fostering symbiotic relationships between international and Indian students and has adopted a philosophical stance that combines Eastern wisdom with Western energy.

SYMBOIOSIS SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY VISION:
The biological concept of "living together of various organisms for mutual benefit" is known as symbiosis. Dr. Mujumdar chose this name for the organisation he founded to support international students studying in India. This phrase, in his opinion, properly encapsulated the idea of "mutual reliance." This unique institution's goal was to foster friendship and fraternity among Indian and international students and therefore produce global citizens and goodwill ambassadors for India.
