About RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF KNOWELEDGE TECHNOLOGIES:

In India's Andhra Pradesh (A.P), the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Basar was founded as a university. RGUKT was established by an act of the legislature passed by the then-AP government in March 2008 as a full-fledged university that would initially only admit the top 1% of rural students to its three residential campuses in Basar, Nuzvid, and R K Valley (Idupulapai- Kadapa). In August 2008, the first group of around 6,000 students from the tenth grade was admitted to a six-year integrated curriculum.

The three campuses were subsequently separated between the two states as a result of the split of the former state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 2015.

RGUKT is a totally residential atmosphere, as was already indicated. Since the majority of rural students come from a widely dispersed geographic area and are unable to commute to the school, this is important. Therefore, it is crucial to offer a completely residential campus with all of the amenities necessary for a community of roughly 7000 people, made up of 6,000 students, 500 instructors and staff, and 1200 service providers of all kinds, such as stores, clinics, banks, launderettes, barbershops, etc. The Institute Director also serves as the township's fictitious mayor, resolving issues that arise from living in a small community.

Through an innovative combination of contemporary computer-assisted, learner-centric instructional approach and demanding conventional teaching in a world-class setting, the University's aim is to give quality engineering education to deserving rural kids who are denied this chance. This vision is motivated by the fact that the majority of gifted rural youngsters who want to pursue higher education lack access to famous, top-notch institutions and facilities and come from backgrounds where economic hardship severely limits their options and passions.
In light of this background, the university plans to offer these students the necessary, high-quality education, enabling them to experience world-class educational standards in engineering education.

• For the payment of the application fee, applicants must draw a demand draught for INR 500 (INR 400 for SC/ST candidates) payable at Basar in favour of "The Director, RGUKT, Basar."
