One of the most popular campuses for higher education and research among students from all across the country is Pondicherry University, which has received a "A" Grade from NAAC. The "Choice-Based Credit System" (CBCS), now adopted by many other Universities, was originally introduced in the nation by Pondicherry University. With 6353 total students, including international students, spread throughout 15 Schools, 38 Departments, 11 Centers, and 1 Chair, the university offers over 144 PG, PG-Diploma/certificate, and Research programmes. More than 130 financed research initiatives, including SAP & FIST Projects from organisations like the UGC, DST, CSIR, and DBT, are now underway at the university.

PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY FACILITIES:

• On its campus, Pondicherry University offers three canteens that serve visitors, faculty members, and students. Each canteen provides a variety of menus and food selections to meet the requirements and preferences of different customers. South Indian cuisine is available at first and second canteens for affordable prices. However, the third canteen specialised in North Indian food. Additionally, South Indian and Chinese dishes are occasionally offered with special discounts in the third canteen.

• 17 hostels are available to students at the university. These are divided into 11 for men, 5 for women, and 1 for overseas students. The rooms are free for students in the restricted categories, such as SC, ST, and women. In addition to receiving a free accommodation, the handicapped children are also given free meals.
