The most well-known linguists are Mikhail Bakhtin and Noam Chomsky. Chomsky is regarded as the founder of modern linguistics and is the author of several publications. The latter is a well-known philosopher who is renowned for his critiques of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's writings.

A linguistics PhD programme will educate you how to conduct research and provide you knowledge across a wide range of topics. You will research linguistic word borrowing, speech motor control, logic, discourse representation, and acoustics.
