About SRI GURU GRANTHSAHIB WORLD UNIVERITY:

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, is a missionary, benevolent, and humanitarian institution that aspires to provide comprehensive education to students of all creeds, castes, and faiths. During the fourth centenary celebrations of the installation of Sri AdiGranth at Golden Temple, former Chief Minister SardarParkash Singh Badal declared the establishment of a university dedicated to the values embodied in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The Punjab Legislative Assembly enacted the Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Act (Punjab State Act 20/2008), and the SGGSWU began its inaugural academic session in July 2011. The University has also obtained AIU (Association of Indian Universities) Membership No. 614.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, a mission of the SGPC, was founded in 2008. It is a missionary, benevolent, and humanitarian organisation that aspires to give comprehensive instruction to novices of all creeds, castes, and faiths. The former Chief Minister, SardarParkash Singh Badal, said during the fourth centennial celebrations of the establishment of Sri AdiGranth at Golden Temple that a college committed to the principles embodied in Sri Guru Granth Sahib would be created.

Since then, there has been no turning back. The University has made remarkable gains in a short period of time to emerge as a prominent institution of higher learning in North India, with all forms of assistance from the State and the SGPC. The University runs several unique academic programmes for students in the disciplines of new technology, sciences, and humanities.
